The book includes the surrounding villages of Aughton, Bickerstaffe, Parbold, Skelmersdale and Scarisbrick and has a chapter on local clock case makers. A fine copy with good dust jacket (very faded to spine and wear to top edge).

O/P. Parts 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, each of about 30 pages. A compilation of photocopied articles originally published in Clocks Magazine, reproduced in this form 1998 - 2005. Sold with what I believe may be Part 1 of the series, but it has a different title. Useful reading for sundial enthusiasts, but the reproduction of the illustrations is poor. First published in 2000, with a revised edition in 2006, this new edition has the same text and illustrations as the original plus additional photographs of aspects of Daniels life in 2010 and his tourbillon wristwatch and co-axial anniversary wristwatch developed after the book was first written. George Daniels is famous for his invention of the co-axial escapement and for the design and production of a small number of excellent watches for which he made all the parts including the case.
