We purchased a really good collection of books at the beginning of November and most of them are now catalogued and on the website. We have not offered some of the titles below for several years, so now could be a good time to treat yourself.

The Time Museum Catalogue of Chronometers
Anthony G. Randall

O/P. An excellent work describing and illustrating the Time Museum's collection of 157 precision timekeepers, mostly with spring detent escapements, one or two with lever escapements and a George Daniels watch with his double wheel 'independent' escapement. This work is an excellent reference and includes examples by Mudge, Arnold, Earnshaw, Berthoud, Breguet and Motel to name a few. The list of known Earnshaw chronometers and their double numbering system is very useful for dating Earnshaw's work. A guide to dating Ulysse Nardin chronometers is also given. Essential reading for chronometer enthusiasts. A very good copy.

366 pages, illustrated, 1992.

The Museum planned 6 catalogues but I think only two were ever published (see under Tait & Coole: The Stackfreed for the other volume). A fine copy with very good dust jacket of this essential reference book.
