Portrait of Thomas Tompion

A 20th century facsimile reproduction of the well known mezzotint of Thomas Tompion by John Smith, after the original portrait by Sir Godfrey Kneller painted circa 1695.

The portrait mounted in a contemporary wooden frame with gilt highlights.

Frame size: 19½ x 15½ inches

Thomas Tompion is England’s most famous clockmaker, he died in 1713.

This print is probably from a limited edition of 750 copies produced in 1973 (see Antiquarian Horology volume 8 page 315).
