  • An early 20th century set of nickel alloy, steel and ivory drawing instruments by the English manufacturer J. A. Reynolds & Co. Limited, Birmingham. The instruments are housed in their original burr walnut box with lift out tray.
     
  • The set comprises:
    Large compass with extension leg and interchangeable attachments for dividers/ink/pencil ·
    Dividers with fine adjustment
    2 medium size compasses for ink/pencil
    3 small spring bow compasses for dividers/ink/pencil ·
    3 drawing pens with ivory handles – two marked Reynolds
    Compass adjuster/penknife
    Brass and ebony parallel ruler
     
  • The burr walnut veneered box has a rectangular brass plaque to the lid and a lift out instrument tray with space in the base for pencils and other accessories. The box lid is lined with watered silk, the latter with gilt stamp for J. A. Reynolds & Co. Limited, Birmingham. Box size 8 x 6¼ x 2¼ inches high.
     
  • The unsigned drawing pen and the small pencil compass are probably not original to the set.
