S/H. 489 pages, lots of figures, the 1994 reprint of a book first published in 1964. This is an excellent detailed account of the barometer from its invention by Torricelli in the 1640's and all the improvements made up to about 1950. Mercury barometers and barographs are studied in detail, as is the development of aneroid mechanisms.
