Towards the end of April, three books are scheduled to be published - a General History of Horology by James Nye et al, A reprint of Watches by Clutton and Daniels and Using the Engineer's Lathe in Clockmaking by Laurie Penman. I hope to have news of all these titles on next month's newsletter.

Thomas Foden, Congleton c1765

A good provincial mahogany longcase clock which shows the phases of the moon. It is signed on the silvered chapter ring Foden, Congleton.

Foden died in December 1785 and an advert in the Manchester Mercury for 29 October 1785 indicates that Foden's stock included 50 8-day and 10 30-hour movements
