NEW. 400 pages, illustrated, 2002. A very comprehensive book, with a wealth of information for horologists and campanologists, about England's smallest county. The book has a gazeteer of all bells, sundials and turret clocks known to be in Rutland and a biographical listing of all Rutland clockmakers plus notes on clockmakers from outside the county who made clocks which are now located in the county. A useful section is devoted to information about British bell founders who supplied bells to Rutland - this information is not easily available elsewhere. A good book which deserves a place on your bookshelf. With dust jacket.

This electrically driven 'waiting train' clock, installed in 1911 has four dials, each 25 feet in diameter, on two towers. The electro-mechanical chiming system was installed in 1954. Card covers. The range of products on offer, including clocks, carillons, bells and sundials, is extensive and suggests that the majority of the firms output was retailed and possibly signed by others. The catalogue includes detailed illustrations of the product range together with specifications and prices. Card covers.

O/P. [7 pages], 6 figs, reprinted from Antiquarian Horology, 1975. Chiaravalle Abbey, near Milan, still exists, the clock does not. The author evaluates Leonardo da Vinci's drawing of the clock in the Atlantic codex and shows that another codex attributed to Leonardo must be a forgery. Very good copy, card covers.

The book also includes everything that is known about the two earlier clocks in the Cathedral. A good copy, minor spotting to first few pages, binding a bit loose, one page loose, corners a bit bumped, owners name on ffep. A rare item. [French language]
