Penman (L.): The Clock Repairer's Handbook
O/P. 176 pages, 301 figures, 1985. This is an excellent book that describes in detail how to find and assess a clock's mechanical problems and how to fix them. The fault-finding chart is very useful as are the author's diagrams and descriptions of repair techniques. A book of great use to enthusiasts and restorers. A good copy of the hardback edition with poor dust jacket. (Ref: BB327)

Pryce (W.T.R.) & Davies (T.A.): Samuel Roberts Clock Maker
O/P. 450 pages, 129 figs., 1985. The definitive work on Samuel Roberts, an eighteenth-century craftsman in the Welsh rural community of Llanfair Caereinion. Roberts produced about 600 clocks and his Account Book for the period 1755 - 1774 is reproduced as an appendix. A good copy, with good dust jacket. (Ref: BB256)

O/P. 295 pages, figures. The 1970 facsimile of the horological sections of Rees's Cyclopaedia. This book has a lot of information on chronometers, clocks, horological tools, compensated balances, dials and dialling, escapements, pendulums and their compensation, remontoirs, etc. An interesting book factually and historically. O/P. 193 pages, 148 figures, 2nd edition, 1943. A book about clock movements produced in the 1920's and 30's with good information on electric clocks and movements of the period.
