O/P. 64 pages, illustrated, not dated [ 1924 ]. A small and rare booklet published by the Horological Journal to coincide with the British Empire Exhibition held at Wembley in 1924. The first part of the book deals with the old masters of horology such as Tompion and Knibb. The second part reviews the watch and clock exhibits at the exhibition with details of all the horological exhibitors. A useful historical reference. A good copy, card covers spitting on spine. This is a scarce paper contained in a volume of the Transactions of the Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society, and is about the life and work of Jonas Barber (father and son) of Winster.
