O/P. 64 pages, illustrated, not dated [ 1924 ]. A small and rare booklet published by the Horological Journal to coincide with the British Empire Exhibition held at Wembley in 1924. The first part of the book deals with the old masters of horology such as Tompion and Knibb. The second part reviews the watch and clock exhibits at the exhibition with details of all the horological exhibitors. A useful historical reference. A good copy, card covers spitting on spine. O/P. 64 pages, 11 illustrations, 12 plates, 1975. John Flamsteed, the first Astronomer Royal, moved into the newly built Royal Observatory, Greenwich in 1676. This book reproduces the twelve etchings made by Francis Place between 1676 and 1679 which record how the Observatory and its surroundings looked when first built.
